Job Summary

The Senior Financial Planner provides financial planning services to clients, and is responsible for performing a variety of tasks on behalf of the financial planning team. Assists with the oversight of workflows of the Financial Planning Assistant, Financial Paraplanners and Financial Planners. The Senior Financial Planner has proven client-facing experience with high net worth clients that have complex planning needs. The planner is dedicated to a select group of high net worth clients (typically $3M+ AUM) and is responsible for creating and presenting a wide variety of planning-related tasks through the coordination of the client discovery process and ongoing planning relationship of the lead advisor, co-advisor, and client to provide an integrated wealth management experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Senior Financial Planner can expect to focus in the following areas:
• Mentor and coach other planners
• Assist our advisors with the Building Ideal Futures ProcessTM to ensure client financial needs are addressed as follows:
 Participate in the management of client contact and communications
 Participate in planning related meetings
 Perform duties based on the lead advisor and co-advisor's interaction with the client
 Assist with the input and maintenance of the data in the Ideal Futures Database and initiate the Ideal Futures ProcessSM presentation during client meetings
 Collaborate with the lead and co-advisor in making recommendations
 Assist with the preparation and delivery of client's income tax returns
 Provide proactive planning/tax articles and news that pertains to client's specific situation
• Meet with clients/potential clients, to obtain information necessary to develop and complete a financial plan or other various financial analyses
• Gather, organize and synthesize client data and review client financial statements, tax returns, estate planning documents and all other information necessary to develop a financial plan or other various analyses
• Deliver various financial planning analyses (i.e., tax analyses, social security analyses, insurance analyses, stock option analyses, Roth conversion analyses, pension analyses, etc.)
• Develop and execute Retirement Planning Workshops using Money Guide Pro (or other software) in an interactive format to clients
• Develop financial plans and suggest alternative options and recommendations for review with advisors
• Prepare, review and deliver updated financial plans and analyses as requested
• Document and/or review policies and procedures for the development of financial plans and other department related workflows and assist with documenting new ones
• Utilize various financial analysis programs and review output ensuring completeness, accuracy and anticipated results sought by advisors
• Conduct and/or oversee special and routine investment/portfolio or planning research projects
• Assist with the preparation and/or review of income tax returns, as required
• Assist in creating financial planning content for use in blogs and other Savant material
• Serve as a back up to receive incoming prospect calls
• Assist with training new planning team members and advisors
• Perform other duties as requested
• Maintain a team approach by assisting and filling in for others

The Senior Financial Planner position typically requires the following qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field from an accredited college or university
• 5-10 years experience in comprehensive financial planning services with demonstrated ability to develop and manage plans and manage client relationships
• CFP required
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook, as well as financial planning software
• Financial planning/wealth management acumen, judgment and experience
• Strong analytical and planning capabilities
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy
• Excellent communication and listening skills
• Client first attitude
• Team player, collaborative, able to work with and through others
